This is a very simple informative book about mountains and the effects that plants and animals face by living on mountains I liked this book a lot I think it s great for younger students because it s easy to read but also gives them good information I especially liked the illustrations about how each picture had a caption by it saying what mountain or mountain range it was depicting This book would be great to read aloud to students grades 2nd 4th This book would be beneficial to read for a scie [...]

Personal Response This book is wonderful It is informative without being overwhelming The illustrations are beautiful The back of the book is full of information of key terms and even information about the illustrations in relation to mountains This book is one of a series by the author and it is clear the author is knowledgable and knows her child audience.Purposes read independently The students could delve deeper into one specific aspect of mountains and use this book as a resource read for [...]

This book did a great job showing the different illustrations of mountains It did not just give information on mountains It also talked about what animals live where and how they adapt to the weather and living conditions on the mountains Also that people can live on mountains as well The words were easy simple sentences and not too much info to make the students uninterested This can be used for k 2nd grade The book can be read aloud and then after discuss about the different climates of mounta [...]

This is a great social studies book for younger students The book would have to be read to preschoolers, but some kindergarteners and most first graders should be able to read this book There are very few words on the page and the page with the words does not contain a picture so the students are not distracted by what is going on, the picture on the right hand side of the page is very realistic and engaging I think that this book is a great way to introduce a unit on mountains or landforms I th [...]
