A family of brothers The Legends working to continue what their father started on the wild Texas frontier This calls for courage and toughness to face life and love and those who would seek to take it from them Houston Legend has already had his share of tragedy and now he s forced into marriage with a stranger who has not had it any easier I was delighted to pursue their story as they found a way to not only make it work, but do it on a tough, gritty cattle drive facing stampedes, rough terrain [...]

    7. This is only the third Linda Broday book I have had the pleasure of reading, but it will not be the last However, this review will be somewhat different than my other reviews because, with this book, not only the book but the author deserve to be reviewed First, the book, The Heart of a Texas Cowboy is unlike any western romance I have ever read This Legend series has shown what a true cowboy is like, but in this book, Houston shows the true grit that made up a real cowboy He fought what he had [...]

    12. Writing style not my type felt completely removed from the emotion of the story, even as the dude s wife was dying in his arms

    13. What a wonderful, compassionate man Houston is I instantly fell in love with him Linda Broday has written a masterpiece with The Heart of a Texas Cowboy When Becky dies I felt Houston s grief and anger over her loss I cried with him I grieved with him Then to agree to marry Lara without knowing her, or even talking to her Just because she was a woman in need shows the depth of his heart And I absolutely loved when he took off Lara s veil and saw her face and the cut Even though he felt so much r [...]

    15. My review contains spoilers and they re mostly my thoughts for , visit Punya ReviewsThe Heart of a Texas Cowboy is the second installment of Linda Broday s new series, Men of Legend I have read her Bachelors of Battle Creek series and loved it, and now I m loving this series as well From book 1, I had thought Houston was the brother who had already had his HEA and won t have a book Who knew he had such a story to tell of his own Much like Bachelors of Battle Creek, Men of Legend focuses on a fam [...]

    16. Another great read from Linda Broday I ve loved all of Linda s books that I have read but I do believe that Houston Legend is my favorite of her Hero s so far As always a major event always happens in a Broday novel in the first pages that draws you in and you have to know what is going to happen Houston thinks that a single bullet and it s results have ruined his life forever As it is often true to life that bullet just put him on the path he was meant to be on Lara Boone has suffered than is [...]

    17. The second book in the Legend series was great Houston seems to be a man of integrity When he makes a vow, you can bet he ll keep it Lara has courage in spades, she just has to learn to believe in it Houston is the best man to help her find the best part of herself The best part of the book is hands down Lara s daughter, Gracie I can still imagine her pointing her fingers at everything and telling it off in her baby garble Too cute for words.

    18. Houston can be a sweet man, darlin , I never see that scar when I look at you Only your beautiful eyes and the spirit shining through Houston covered her hand with his You fret too much Houston tries his hardest to appease his girl, Houston tried to work up a grin but the effort appeared to be too much I did my best to stay out of the way of bullets I liked this book, I loved Houston he was a protector and would do anything for his family.

    19. Lara never expected to marry Her face was disfigured because of an evil man The puckered scar was a constant reminder to her, of just what an angry person was capable of No, Lara wasn t in any hurry to marry The only good that had ever come from being raped by Yuma Blackstone was her beautiful daughter, Gracie Houston Legend was broken His bride, Becky, was dead, shot by a jealous lover, even though she had been carrying the murderer s child Houston had always loved Becky, but apparently, the fe [...]

    20. Houston s bride was murdered at the alter But what he learned after her death broke his heart even So he s decided never to trust his heart to a woman again Lara was attacked by a ranch hand and left with a sweet baby girl When Houston and Lara are forced to marry they decide to make the best of their marriage for the sake of Gracie, their little girl Neither of them expect to actually like each other, or that their affection will be put to the ultimate test. This book wasn t what I was expectin [...]

    21. Houston Legend stands head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to loyalty and commitment He is determined to keep the Lone Star ranch intact at all costs, even it means marrying a woman whom he does not know And not only a woman, but a woman with a baby All Lara Boone wants is a name for her child born from a violent rape These two characters are the epitome of the spirit that settled the Wild West They face adversities, danger and life threatening situations head on and find that their m [...]

    22. There is nothing truer than the saying love it blind The first few pages of this story just ripped my heart out Your heart breaks for one, than you hear the whole story which spins you in a 360 for poor Houston and how he was betrayed A year later two lost hurt souls come together when two fathers make a deal forcing them to marry One swearing to service and protect his wife and her child the other hoping for the best, can these two help heal the wounds others have given them A story full of dan [...]

    23. This is the second book in Linda Broday s The Men of Legend Series and they keep getting better Her books give you a real feel of the time, the place, and the people of the late 1880 s Texas This is Houston s story The oldest son of Stoker Legend, he has devoted his life to the ranch his father has built for his sons Houston is a deeply wounded man who has been betrayed He drinks too much and has shut himself off from anything other than running the ranch He is dealing with poor ranching conditi [...]

    25. A bullet pierces the beautiful moment of a blushing bride about to wed a tall and handsome cowboy My breath caught in my throat at the violence that came from out of nowhere Main character Houston s brothers have their own brand of justice for the shooter, but the truth behind the crime causes even pain to the cowboy groom Time doesn t heal or open Houston s heart to love again, but when his father confesses he s made a huge mistake, an arranged marriage between Houston and single mother Lara B [...]
