    1. I received this as an UNEDITED ARC for purposes of BETA READING and with permission, decided to review it based solely on the story and content therein and not any editing issues After reading through the introductions and getting to the bare heart of the story, I began understanding why the author puts the introductions and the descriptions at the beginning instead of just taking the time to describe them as she went IF she had put the descriptions in the story, then it would have taken away fr [...]

    2. For a debut novel, this was an amazingly strong prequel to the Legend of Xosha series While a short read, it grabs hold of you and doesn t let you go until the end The world in which the characters live is well thought out and the characters are developed beautifully Each race has an important role that isn t immediately clear, but it comes together perfectly as the story progresses The details are described so vividly that it is easy to visualize the world and the characters Of the debut novels [...]

    6. R2R LoP The Rise of XoshaI received a free copy of this book, through LoP, in exchange for a review. The race of Dragons are on the march Fleeing from their only home, since being attacked by the new race of Dragons or Anjyls Oceanus, the leader of the remaining Dragons puts his trust and follows the advice, to their new destination, from Rose, an outcast due to her natural color, white She guides the last 24 Dragons, for over a year, to their new home, but much needs to happen to make it such an [...]

    7. This is my first time experiencing this author which in itself is exciting I so picked it because of it dealing with dragons This one begins right off with the horde on their journey to a new beginning it would seem in a different place fore told to them to go The descriptions are most vivid which is refreshing because my mind s eye is having a field day The characters jump out at me right away with their being two sides one on this journey and one that has gone the other way and turned to wicke [...]

    8. I have read the first book a couple of weeks ago and was looking forward to the second one in this series I absolutely LOVE the story line and concept of it all, just like the first one Each of these are on the shorter side so I wished the author would have spent a little less time explaining what happened in the first one, and if the author thought it really necessary expand a little bit on the rest of this book The author was a little over ambitious trying to get this much information in this [...]

    9. In a story that starts slowly, this prequel sets up the world building and introduces some of the creatures and elements that will play a larger part in the series as it progresses S Cu Anam Policar uses vivid and detailed descriptions to bring this world to life, giving plenty of information for visualization potential In fact, there is so much information provided that it does become wearing, although beautifully written I was looking for sharing of information through showing instead of long [...]

    10. The Rise of Xosha was an imaginative and fun fantasy YA novel Written as a prequel set 1,000 years before the forthcoming series, it focuses on the story of a displaced dragon clan, but these aren t ordinary dragons they re shape shifting creatures who can control the elements In a disastrous battle with their enemies, the Anjyl s, or as they re known to humans Angels, they were forced to abandon their home As they rebuild in a new world, they must face both old and new enemies.Xosha has tons of [...]

    11. A good start for a new series This prequel sets up for the 1st book in the series We meet the dragons and the anjyls angels and we find out how the once close race became two separate races S Cu Anam also gives a different view on how shifters came into existence I like the mixture of sups that were represented The Rise of Xosha was a short interesting read and I think the author did a good job with laying the foundation for what I hope will be a great new shifter series This book had no cursing [...]

    15. Okay I absolutely loved this book it was full of adventure and fantasy it spoke to me on many levels it was original I loved that it had dragons, wolves, elves, demons, some type of vampire giant scorpions and hybrid forms of the diffrent creatures I did get highly amused at how the female dragons reacted to things, and how caveman the males in the book could be I did get a bit blown away at how quickly the book finished and if i had been reading it in paper back I would have been turning over t [...]

    21. I m going to be dead honest i still don t agree with some of the naming conventions, and i think frankly if you re going to write a smaller book, you should wait and prepare a larger book so the stories mesh Fantasy isn t my choice of genre, and i can t see me giving it than a three, but it deserves a three and a half because the writing was explicitly good I just don t like how short it was, and the naming conventions really required a lot research.Personal opinion, and it s why i rarely revi [...]

    22. Even while I don t read that much, I read this book in one sitting The viewpoint and characteristics from some races in the story may discourage some readers but to me it is what keeps my attraction to the story and interest in the characters As this book is part two, the story continues where the Diamond Isles ended and becomes less of an introduction, adventurous and grim I do enjoy the tale as it deploys.

    23. This is the second time I read one of the authors books, and again I was impressed by it, the writing and characters This is a really fantastic, five star series and can t wait to see what happens next A real winner.
